I’ll admit it, I’m addicted to my curling iron. I even bought a dual voltage one just for my backpacking trip through Europe #noshame. That being said, I’ve noticed that all the daily heat usage has definitely done some damage to my hair, which is why I was so happy to find a no-heat alternative that still leaves me with voluminous, beachy waves!
Second day hair is the ~best~ to get hair that holds a style and texture that’s easy to work with. I added a little more oomph to my second-day locks with texturizing dry shampoo, which I worked into my roots.
Then I spritzed a generous amount of the beach waves sea salt spray all over my hair, focusing especially on the ends. This product right here is the KEY INGREDIENT to the waves! It’s a little bit of magic in a bottle, I swear. Plus it smells like bananas 😉 My hair doesn’t respond to scrunching, but I went through the motions to make sure the product was spread evenly and then swept my hair up into two buns! *I do this to make sure the waves are facing outwards from my face on BOTH sides!
Since I didn’t have anywhere to be, I left them in for about an hour before taking them out. If you’re not in a time crunch, I’d let them sit for as long as needed, with occasional checkups and re-buns to make sure they’re not going to come out with any bends!
Aaaaand that’s it! I did a few more spritzes of the sea salt spray and then sprayed all hairspray generously all over to keep the waves in.
You can recreate this look with damp hair and leave the buns in overnight, or with second-day hair + dry shampoo like I did. Either way, you’ll end up with a beautiful mess of beachy waves… no heat required 🙂
I received these products from Not Your Mother’s in exchange for honest review.
